While less porous than marble or concrete, Gilasi still requires periodic care.
Gilasi is sealed with a penetrating sealer by the installer, and we recommend periodic waxing with a beeswax or carnuba type wax for additional surface protection.
The best way to keep your Gilasi in mint condition is to wipe up spills as they occur. Otherwise, acids such as lemon juice or red wine could compromise the sealer.
Using mild cleansers with water will clean Gilasi without compromising the sealant, as harsh abrasives would.
While there is no ingredient in Gilasi that could burn, placing hot pots or pans on Gilasi could compromise the sealant.
